Here’s a quick tip for living past 90.
If you want to live a longer, healthier life, make alcohol a regular part of your lifestyle–though, of course, in moderate amounts.
A recent study from California showed that people who drank 1 glass of wine were 18 percent less likely to die prematurely from any cause.
Older adults who also made the following lifestyle changes also lived longer:
Exercising at least 15 minutes per day
Commit to one 15 minute exercise session per day to cut your risk of premature death by 11 percent.
Weighing more
A thicker bod later in life slightly reduces your risk of premature death; that’s good news for those who aren’t keen on staying in perfect shape.
Though it’s not a good reason to gain weight (once you hit obesity, these benefits disappear), maintaining a thinner physique isn’t necessarily important in your later years.
Eating more plant-based foods like veggies
Tons of studies prove it, so there’s no need to get in depth here. Eating more plant-based foods in your diet increases your intake of healthful nutrients, reducing your risk of many diseases, including heart disease.
So how should you indulge?
Simple: after the last meal of the day, pour yourself a glass of alcohol, and savor the flavor.
Think of it as adult dessert–relaxing, easy to digest, and now an anti-aging tonic.
Sip up!
